Niagara Falls, American side from the top

As you walk up to the the falls, the river drops 50 feet in some huge rapids.
Debbie and I were imagining from our summer jobs in college as river raft boatmen what it would be like to be in a raft caught in a haystack this big rapid. We have done that in smaller rapids, but not quite this big.
My beautiful ladies on the viewing bridge built out over the cliff next to the falls.

The wind was really whipping through there that afternoon. Canadian side of the falls and Canada hotels in the background.

p.s. tWe left the boat in Brewerton, just north of Syracuse while we rented a car and drove to Niagara Falls. The fellow that worked on replacing some hoses in the boat just before we left, upon hearing we were getting a rental car to drive 3 hours to Niagara said, , "I've lived here all my life and never been there." Sandy said-you are long overdue and he replied, "that's what my grandma says." Amazing how often we find that many people do not even investigate their own area. I would say about 40% of the people we know in the Seattle-Tacoma area have never seen Snoqualmie Falls where the whole river drops 200 feet. It is 4 miles off I-90, less than an hour from Seattle or Tacoma. It is not Niagara, but is spectacular in itself.
