Lock Pics

We have just come in to one of the first few locks and these two boats were behind us. when we all get in and holding on to ropes that hang down the sides so our boats will not be moved by the swirling water coming in, they will close this gate and let the water come in. this lock goes up about 33 ft

the upstream side of the lock as it is filling with my lovely wife on the front deck. you can see the water leaking in through the gates from the high side. you can also see the 'sill' as they only maintain 10 foot depth at the high side lock gate, the rest is just a wall of cement.
