Up the Hudson River and the Tappan Zee Bridge

At 2 pm after picking up Amy and dropping off Josh at La Guardia right next to our marina, we headed up the Harlem river to the Hudson. this railroad bridge was closed when we got to the Hudson and on the VHF radio we could not understand what the bridge tender was saying to us about when it would open. finally after 3-4 times we figured he was waiting for a train to cross [2 did before He opened it and one not far after we got thru...] there was one other boat on our side and 3 waiting on the other side.

the Hudson River is about two Miles wide at the Tappan Zee Bridge

the pool at the Haverstraw marina overlooking the Hudson. it says the capacity is 250 people, but only us and the life guard.
